Bet9ja Mobile Site 2019

Bet9ja Mobile Site 2019

The new Bet9ja mobile site has been designed in order to improve the user experience, providing more features and highlighting products the customer struggled to find. Together with the user experience, I improved the user interface design converting complex ideas into a simple and clean interface more enjoyable to use.
You’ll see below a comparison between the previous version and the new one that I recently made.
Leaving aside the design and user interface point of view, we understood that the old Bet9ja mobile home page didn’t satisfy the customer needs, generating the following pain points:
∙  Can’t easily find the Registration button;
∙  There are no odds available once you land to the home page;
∙  Can’t see promotions/offers
Solutions:
∙  Displaying today’s matches and other popular products such as virtual games;
∙  A navigation menu it has been added to the bottom of the page and it sticks to the footer. This makes easier to find all the products, including the Registration button;
∙  Display promotions, offers or special events by adding a banner system;
Let’s say I want to bet on the English Premier League events on the old Bet9ja mobile site. After clicking on “Bet”, you’ll see the following pages where you can choose the sport, country and the championship.
Pain Points:
∙  It takes too long to find the English Premier League;
∙  See lots of information but useful for this case;
∙  Can’t see what other people bet on;
Solutions:
∙  With the new navigation menu the customer can easily find popular sports and quick links to some of the products the business wanted to push more;
∙  Customer can now search for an event;
∙  Under the Sport section, customers could navigate the list of sports as it was previously done;
∙  The new feature “Popular Leagues” helps customers to find quickly the championship they are more interested on;
The screenshot below, from the old mobile site, shows an overview of the English Premier League with the list of upcoming events filtered by date and time.
Pain Points:
∙  Not sure what the odds belong to because of the layout and the lack of contrast;
∙  Spending too much time identifying the desired selection causes the risk of seeing an odd changing;
∙  Not sure what 1×2 means and how to play;
Solutions:
∙  The new layout makes the overview more understandable and intuitive, saving time and money avoiding the chance of experiencing an odd change;
∙  The info button next to the 1×2 market will explain the customer the meaning of it and how to play so they become more curious to try other markets;
Let’s say the customer wants to explore more markets related to the event Liverpool vs Arsenal, he would tap the arrow to the right of the event in order to jump to the detail page showing all the markets available together with the statistics;
Pain Points:
∙  Not sure what O/U 2.5 and Handicap mean;
∙  Finding the Bet Slip is not intuitive (top right corner, not easy to reach);
Solutions:
∙  An info button added for each market will explain to the customers how to play. In this way the users feels invited to try something different that he might enjoy more;
∙  The Bet Slip button has been moved to the footer, more strategic position because it makes it easier to reach it with the finger. Changing colour to red makes it more eye-catching so counting how many selections have been added it’s quicker;
The Bet Slip show the list of selections chosen, where the customer can choose how much to bet and check the potential winnings.
Pain Points:
∙  Can’t choose to bet these selections as a single; the alternative on the old mobile site would be to select and bet on each one separately;
∙  This is my lucky ticket but I don’t want to register on the site, I want to bet through the shop instead;
Solutions:
∙  The new Bet Slip lets the user to bet on the 3 selections as a single with the possibility to treat them as a multiple or bet system instead;
∙  Book a Bet feature added for customers that want to browse the odds, choose whatever they like and then provide the Booking Number to any of the Bet9ja shops to complete the bet. Customers could also Login or Register to place the bet online.
∙  A customer can also share the Bet Slip with friends on Whatsapp. This gives more visibility to the brands, increasing the chances of receiving more bets;
